The Left Alliance at University of Bergen is a socialistic, feministic and climate conscious organisation. In 2020, the Left Alliance will therefore work for free syllabus, an oil free and climate neutral academia, fight for the full-time student and ensure a solidary and equal university.
The Left Alliance will work for free syllabus with the option of lending, similar to the way it is done in high school. We also want the syllabus available online.
The University needs to meet the future. Therefore, the deal with Equinor needs to be renegotiated, to ensure an oil free university. The university`s foremost contribution to ensure a greener future is through research, which needs to be prioritised.
The left alliance works for equal rights for physical and mental health. The university needs to facilitate for students who, for various reasons, cannot meet physically in the lectures. Therefore, the university needs to be more digitalized, and lectures and PowerPoints needs to be available immediately after class. We will work to make sure that Sammen has the best offer available for mental health in Norway, and ensure more information and better accessibility to their health services. The waiting time needs to be shortened to two weeks.
We take student welfare seriously. We want to make sure that the full-time student is an option for everyone, no matter the size of their wallet. The left alliance wants to increase the student grants to 1.5 G, with 75 % being a scholarship.
